Organic Sea Harvest Receives Approval for Third Farm on Skye

Visscher Seafood, a main shareholder of Organic Sea Harvest (OSH), is proud to announce the approval for the development of a third salmon farm at Balmaqueen, in northeast Skye. This decision was made today by the Highland Council after a thorough review of the plans. While the proposal for a farm in Flodigarry was declined, the approval of Balmaqueen marks a significant milestone for OSH.

The new farm aligns with OSH’s mission to produce Atlantic salmon in a responsible and sustainable manner, with care for both the environment and local communities. This expansion not only supports their growth but also reinforces their commitment to climate-friendly aquaculture practices.

The development of the farm is expected to take over a year, but this is a key step forward. Visscher Seafood is proud of our Scottish colleagues and their contribution to our shared mission of sustainable Atlantic salmon production.
