Enjoy this classic combination of smoked salmon, creamy cream cheese, peppery arugula, and zesty lemon on a toasted bagel

Ingredients

  • 2 bagels, sliced and toasted – 150g smoked salmon slices – 150g cream cheese

  • Fresh arugula leaves

  • Lemon zest, from 1 lemon

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Red onion slices (optional)

  • Capers (optional)

Directions

  • Spread a generous layer of cream cheese on each toasted bagel half.
  • Lay a few slices of smoked salmon on top of the cream cheese.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of lemon zest over the salmon.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Place a handful of fresh arugula leaves on top of the salmon.
  • Optionally, add a few slices of red onion and a sprinkle of capers for extra flavor.
  • Close the bagel with the other half.
  • Serve the smoked salmon bagel immediately as a delicious breakfast, brunch, or lunch option.
